What is a photovoltaic inverter used for?

Photovoltaic inverters are devices that convert direct current into alternating current. Because it is a reverse process corresponding to rectification, it is called inversion. Solar cells generate direct current under sunlight, but the system powered by direct current has significant limitations.

For example, fluorescent lamps, televisions, refrigerators, electric fans, etc. It cannot be directly powered by a DC power source, and this is also true for most motors.

When the power supply system needs to increase or decrease voltage, the AC system only needs to add one transformer, while the voltage increase and decrease technology in the DC system is much more complex. Therefore, in addition to direct use of DC power for communication, meteorological and other special purposes, photovoltaic power generation systems for production and daily use also need to be equipped with photovoltaic inverters.

Simply put, photovoltaic power generation refers to the direct current generated, while the electricity we generally use is alternating current, including that used in household appliances, so an inverter is needed to generate electricity. In photovoltaic systems, the quality of solar inverters (mainly referring to conversion efficiency) is directly related to the power output of the entire system.
